Eat Spain Drink Spain: Three New Barrafina Specials

This September, Barrafina is taking part in Eat Spain Drink Spain, a nationwide celebration of Spanish food and wine. To mark the campaign, we’re bringing three new specials to the counter for a limited time, alongside our usual menu of Spanish dishes and wines.
Available from 11th-27th September, the specials showcase some of the flavours and techniques we love most, with a few Barrafina twists along the way.
Classic Tortilla + Caviar
The tortilla stays true to the way Barrafina has always made it: potato and egg, cooked slowly and gently until the outside is set and the centre remains soft.
For these two weeks only, the classic tortilla can be finished with a caviar supplement. The richness of the eggs and olive oil meets the clean, briny hit of the caviar, turning one of Spain’s simplest dishes into something a little more celebratory.
It is the classic, dressed up; still recognisably tortilla, but with an extra layer of indulgence.
Cuttlefish Croquetas
A departure from the usual jamón croqueta, this version puts cuttlefish at the centre.
Cuttlefish is worked through a creamy béchamel before being breaded and fried to order. The result is exactly what you want from a croqueta: crisp and golden on the outside, with a hot, molten centre that gives way to the savoury flavour of the sea.
Mar y Montaña Fideuà
A dish built around the Spanish idea of mar y montaña; sea and mountain – bringing seafood and meat together in the same pan.
Short noodles are cooked down in stock in much the same way as paella, absorbing the flavour as they cook. The pan is taken far enough for the noodles to catch, creating those prized crisp edges and toasted, savoury notes alongside the softer noodles beneath.
Seafood brings the sweetness and salinity of the sea, while meat adds richness and depth. The result is a fideuà with plenty of texture and contrast: savoury, intensely flavoured and made for sharing.

All three specials will be available across every Barrafina restaurant from 11th to 27th September.
